    The strategy of Evonik for serving the pharmaceutical industry will be explained. The asset strategy and the horizontal and vertical integration of the manufacturing sites play a key part in Evonik's flexible approach to pharmaceutical manufacturing. The aim is to produce the best result for the customer in terms of price, quality, and delivery.

  2. From Inquiry to Delivery: Tools for Project Management, Customer Communication and Work Flow Optimisation
    Excellent customer communication and highly efficient project management are key to success in custom and contract manufacture of today's highly complex pharmaceutical APIs. Evonik will introduce its in-house tools for project management, customer communication and workflow management, with the aid of generic examples of customer projects.

  3. New Manufacturing Opportunities in the USA – Capabilities in HPAPI production
    With the acquisition of the Tippecanoe Laboratories Site (West Lafayette, IN) from Eli Lilly, Evonik has greatly expanded its production capacity for cGMP manufacture of pharma APIs and advanced intermediates (860 m3 vessel capacity). The new production facilities will be illustrated. A particular feature of the Tippecanoe site is the capability for High Potency API (HPAPI) manufacture at all production scales. The special features and requirements for successful HPAPI manufacture will be presented.

  4. Expansion of the Technology Toolbox
    The existing technology capabilities of Evonik Exclusive Synthesis will be presented, together with the areas where the new technologies required for tomorrow's APIs are being developed. An area of emphasis is the synergy between Exclusive Synthesis and other areas of Evonik, which enables Evonik to offer a very wide range of technology opportunities for the customer. These include engineering expertise (continuous processing, micro-reactor technology, process modelling), biotechnology (biocatalysis including enzyme engineering and design and fermentation development), chemical catalysis (tailor-made catalysts optimised for a customer's specific process) and pharma polymers (tailor-made polymers for controlled release drug dosage forms).
