Novel Chromatographic Purification Strategies for APIs

Tuesday, September 14
12:30pm - 1:30pm

The development of targeted medicines involves the synthesis of increasingly specific and complex APIs, whose chemical synthesis is more and more difficult, generating tenacious impurities. This often results in very high purification costs due to the low yield of crystallization or the low productivity of traditional normal phase or reversed phase preparative chromatographic separation.

Novasep and instrAction have recently initiated a strategic alliance to develop the use of instrAction's API selective stationary phases to purify APIs and advanced intermediates at large scale. instrAction's revolutionary chromatographic stationary phase technology enables them to design stationary phases that promote specific molecular recognition. They can then screen, among a vast library of stationary phases, those for which the separation potential is the highest, and further optimize the design of the stationary phase to provide much improved productivity for difficult to purify compounds. With the help of Novasep's proprietary simulation software, the purification process can be optimized.

Furthermore, Novasep can provide large scale contract purification and, where applicable, synthesis using the jointly developed process.
